AutoRevista - After the premiere of Global Mobility Call in 2022, how is IFEMA MADRID going to make this second edition more powerful and attractive?
David Moneo.- We have structured the congress part differently with eight thematic itineraries (Path to Net Zero, Mobility Solutions for Citizens, Sustainable Transport, Smart and Livable Cities, From Automotive to Mobility Services, Technology and Innovation; Talent and Future Jobs, and Better Business for Economic Development), which has allowed exhibiting partners and sponsors to better identify how to approach their participation in the Global Mobility Call. I think this approach has helped us to better explain and understand the complex concept of the Global Mobility Call.
We have created an event that is unique, because there is nothing similar in Europe or in the world. We have been very ambitious when it comes to strengthening the institutional part, from Europe to the municipal level in Spain, because the new mobility has to be regulated, hence the great importance of the participation of regulatory actors.

AR.- How has it been to interact with so many sectors involved in the event?
D.M.- We have landed much better in the 13 different sectors (Automotive, Energy for sustainable mobility, Smart Urban & Rural Mobility, Public transport and urban mobility, IOT: Data analytics and cybersecurity, Aerospace mobility, Land mobility, Maritime mobility, Logistics and distribution of goods, Infrastructures for mobility, Safe, inclusive and accessible mobility, Sustainability and environment and Mobility services).
We have reached agreements with the associations of each of these sectors both nationally and internationally where we have been able to and have generated messages that are understandable and truly motivating for each sector, regardless of the fact that it is a large multi-sector event. The exhibition part brings together more than 70 companies and we have 20 sponsors. There is a clear pull effect for many companies without forgetting, as I said at the beginning, the regulatory part.

AR.- How does an automotive sector in transition to new mobility fit into this equation?
D.M.- The automotive and mobility world is changing dramatically year by year. Of course, there is going to be a strong presence in the mobility services part (Mobility as a Service), which many companies are entering. In the case of car manufacturing companies, there is going to be a very notable impact on the product, in line with the fact that the automobile is returning to its roots. They are manufacturers of a product to which companies will give one or another use.

The participation of entities from the sector will be very important, with round table discussions by ANFAC and SERNAUTO. There will also be conferences on the new business opportunities for the automotive aftermarket in the new era of mobility by ANCERA, and the challenges of distribution by FACONAUTO. Senior executives from Volkswagen, Toyota, Hyundai and MG will be present. The participation of the sector will be transversal, with Volkswagen on new mobility models and CIE Automotive on digitalisation. There will be road safety forums with FESVIAL and meetings of national and Latin American local police forces.
AR.- Is the main objective focused on consolidating the event for the coming years?
D.M.- We have already achieved the initial objective of a very powerful agenda with more than 100 presentations, more than 100 round tables and some 300 speakers, with 45% international speakers, which greatly enriches the overall profile of the event. Also sessions on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, rural and urban mobility forums, analysis of the Atlantic corridors and an impressive line-up of companies with a large institutional participation from ministers and ministers to presidents of autonomous communities, mayors with mayors ... so the first objective is fulfilled.
Our second objective is to have a really successful event, which I think we are going to achieve thanks to the companies and associations already mentioned and others such as CONFEBUS, as well as those from the energy, logistics, rail, aviation and road transport sectors, and I think we will see that during these three days.
We want Global Mobility Call contributes its grain of sand so that Spain can lead this change in mobility
And the third objective is that the Global Mobility Call has a real contribution with a positive commercial and business dynamic for the companies that participate and then, that it contributes its grain of sand so that Spain can lead this change in mobility. A contribution in the form of a loudspeaker for Spanish, European and global society that serves to attract talent, projects and that Spanish companies can export all their knowledge and service capabilities. Always with the institutional support and especially with that of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, ideologue together with IFEMA MADRID of this project.
The Main Auditorium will present a high-level strategic agenda and representation of business partners: ADIF, Renfe, Iberia, Iberdrola, BP, EMT, Metro de Madrid, Cepsa, Uber, HVR, Consorcio de Transportes de Madrid and Ulity. There will be three Agoras in which the 8 thematic itineraries will be developed with the sponsorship of EDP, SISTEM, PwC; Indra and Mobility ADO. Entities and companies such as C40, Mango, Senasa or UNTWO; and Seres, Forética, AEB, Coca-Cola or SACYR, among others, will participate in several forums.
Speakers from firms and entities such as Uber, BP Spain, Iberia. TotalEnergies, New York University and World Bank Group, among many others.
