AutoRevista.- How is the transformation of the automotive industry impacting Inelca in relation to the evolution towards electrification and other alternative propulsion, as well as higher levels of digitalization and sustainability?
Diego Cano Alanzor.- As experts in the surface treatment of fastening elements and other components, we play an important role in the electrification of vehicles, which requires reducing weight to enhance efficiency. This translates into the need to implement new surface treatment processes that guarantee optimal resistance, durability and conductivity. We are evolving towards more advanced and durable processes.
On the other hand, digitalization is driving the automation of treatment processes by incorporating robotics to achieve greater precision and efficiency in results. To this we must add that more sustainable processes are achieved thanks to more efficient technologies in terms of raw material consumption, waste generation and emissions. It should be noted that in recent years our company has made important investments aimed at sustainability and energy efficiency. One of the main actions has been the installation of solar panels to generate clean and renewable energy. We have also carried out the updating and equipping of our existing machines with more environmentally friendly and energy efficient components, which allow us to optimize energy consumption and reduce our environmental impact.
At Inelca, we constantly stay updated with the latest developments and technologies mentioned, implementing all these improvements in our facilities to be an active part of this future that is already a reality.
AR.- What is the perspective from an SME with more than 50 years of experience and what are the keys to competing in an increasingly globalized market?
D.C.A.- From the perspective of an SME with more than 50 years of experience in the metal surface treatment sector, competing in an increasingly globalized market and facing growing competition, especially from Asia, presents various challenges.
In our case, we are committed to differentiating ourselves by offering specialized services and personalized solutions that low-cost markets cannot easily match. As we have mentioned, we always remain at the forefront of new technologies and offer new solutions that meet the changing needs of the market.
Other most important aspects are the high quality standards throughout the business chain, from the surface treatment process to customer service, customer trust is the most important thing and we work to maintain it daily. In line with this way of working, we ensure that we comply with all the demanding regulations and standards related to the automotive industry and always work with top-level suppliers.
AR.- What are the growth prospects in facilities, means of production and volume of activity in the automotive sector?
D.C.A.- Growth prospects are optimistic due to the recovery in several markets, the increase in demand for electric vehicles and the need to replace older vehicles with newer and more efficient models.
In this favorable context, Inelca is in the process of launching a new production plant focused mainly on the application of organic finishes. A new production line has been installed here that will allow us to apply GEOMET, a license we recently obtained. This addition will strengthen our ability to offer advanced, high-quality solutions to our clients.
On the other hand, in our main warehouse, we are already working on the development of a new ZnNi line that will allow us to expand our production capacity and optimize a large volume of work, thus improving our operational efficiency and our ability to meet growing demand. of our clients.
We are very excited about the opportunities ahead and are making strategic investments to make the most of these optimistic growth prospects in the sector.
AR..- From the point of view of innovation, can we talk about synergies between the automotive industry and the other industrial sectors in which Inelca is present?
D.C.A.- Of course, from the point of view of innovation there are numerous opportunities for synergies between the automotive industry and other sectors. Innovation in one sector can often influence and benefit other sectors in which it promotes interesting technological advances and solutions in other industries such as aerospace, construction, electronics and the naval industry, among others, to improve resistance, durability and efficiency of components and products.
AR.- Looking to the future, what lines of action does Inelca plan to promote?
D.C.A.- Inelca has various lines of action planned to enhance its position as a trusted supplier for the automotive industry. Continue together with our main partners working on innovation and development to find solutions to the changing needs of the sector, optimize processes to increase our efficiency, reduce costs and continue increasing our quality. On the other hand, we believe that the training and development of our team is very important, promoting a culture of continuous learning. And last but not least, continue integrating sustainable practices and social responsibility in our organization, adopting measures to reduce our environmental impact, and contribute to the sustainable development of the industry.
