AR.- How did the idea of eMobility Expo World Congress come about and why did you choose Valencia?

Sandra Infante.- The European Union has a clear commitment to sustainability and is working to reduce its emissions by 55% by 2030, in just seven years. And, furthermore, it wants to be the first emission-neutral continent by the same date. eMobility Expo World Congress was born to respond to these emission reduction objectives, but also to develop safer, smarter, more sustainable, connected and autonomous mobility in the coming years.

We want to become a Davos of mobility, a forum in which to bring together all the actors involved and who must act for change, to analyse, share experiences and discuss the roadmap that we must follow to meet the objectives set.

The choice of Valencia as the venue for the celebration of the eMobility Expo World Congress is due to the strong commitment of the region to become an international hub for sustainable mobility in southern Europe. The construction of a SEAT-Volkswagen gigafactory, the choice by Ford of the Almussafes factory to manufacture all electric vehicles in Europe, and the City Council's strategy to position Valencia as one of the first cities in sustainable mobility, are just a few. Examples that show how the Valencian Community is taking steps in this direction. With the celebration of the eMobility Expo World Congress we want to contribute our grain of sand so that Valencia continues to position itself as a great hub of sustainable mobility at an international level, and that is why we have the institutional support of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Valencia Provincial Council and the Valencia City Council.

AR.- What are the characteristics of your holistic and 360º vision of mobility?

S.I.- If we want to meet the sustainability goals that we have set for ourselves, we must transform the mobility industry as a whole and not only in the field of sustainability, but also in the field of technology, connectivity and autonomous mobility. For this reason, eMobility Expo World Congress offers a comprehensive and holistic platform for the mobility of people and goods. From micromobility solutions, through cars, buses, trains, ships and planes. From urban or road mobility to rail, naval or air mobility.

We are talking about the redesign of current mobility models. Promote the electric car, that airlines and aircraft manufacturers develop solutions to make flights more sustainable, that logistics companies bet on solutions that improve last-mile logistics and the emissions they generate... It is also necessary to redesign our cities, infrastructures and regulations to accommodate these new forms of mobility, and make the population aware of using public transport. In addition to the power sources of these new models, electricity, hydrogen, the need to develop batteries and charging stations...

The challenges that lie ahead are many and must be addressed from a holistic vision of mobility. And it is that the future of mobility must be developed with a global perspective, going through the technology of platforms, interchanges, intermodality and the development of new concepts and models.

AR- What is the expectation regarding the number of visitors and professional profiles?

S.I.- We are going to bring together more than 5,000 professionals from the mobility industry, from representatives of the public administration to managers of large companies who will come in search of partners in sustainable mobility and to discover the latest trends and technological solutions.

The objective of eMobility Expo World Congress is to act for change, and this means that professionals who visit the event can discover new solutions and strategies that they can apply to their business plans, as well as find partners to help them in this model transformation. of business. That is why leading firms linked to mobility will show their latest solutions and innovations to transform the sector towards more sustainable, connected and autonomous mobility. This is the case of vehicle and component manufacturers such as Ford or Toyota; companies with micro-mobility solutions such as Vadecity; energy distributors and manufacturers of charging systems such as Iberdrola, Endesa, EDP, Power Electronics and Floox Power; airlines, shipping companies, new transport models such as Zeleros; technology providers and digital systems such as IBM, Ricardo, Caresoft or Altair; or technological centres such as Eurecat, Redit, and ITE (Technological Institute of Energy) and clusters and associations such as Railgrup, IATA, or Clúster Aemes, among many others.

In addition, we will have an important representation of the public administration. Councillors and mobility managers from European town halls and regions will meet in Valencia with the industry to share their needs, their experiences, and how the sector can help them create new, more sustainable forms of mobility for citizens.

AR.- What innovative contributions does eMobility Expo World Congress intend to make?

S.I.- For three days, more than 340 experts from around the world will analyse and discuss the challenges in terms of sustainable mobility at the eMobility World Congress. Electric vehicles, sustainable cities and zero emissions, new energy sources and charging systems, micro-mobility solutions ... will be some of the topics that will be addressed at the congress. In addition, the impact of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Twin, IoT, Blockchain, or Big Data in the sector will also be analysed, as well as the new habits of citizens and the importance of raising awareness for more sustainable mobility. In short, we are going to see the latest on the market right now, from a professional perspective, very focused on the needs of industry and public administration.

AR.- How is the event set up as a scenario to generate opportunities for public-private projects?

S.I.- eMobility Expo World Congress will be the annual meeting point where we will bring together the entire mobility industry, as well as public representatives at a European, national and regional level.

In addition, the congress will host the Governments & Manufacturers Summit forum, where we will bring together mobility councillors from regions where the mobility industry is especially relevant, such as Andalusia, Aragon, Valencia, Galicia, Catalonia, Navarra, the Basque Country…, with the CEOs of leading automotive, shipping, and aeronautical manufacturing companies, etc. The objective of this forum is to promote the transformation of a key industry in the economy of these regions, promoting public-private collaboration.

AR.- What aspects will the eMobility Innovation World Awards recognize to a greater extent?

S.I.- The eMobility Innovation World Awards will recognise those projects that contribute to promoting a more autonomous, connected and sustainable mobility. That is why we will award prizes ranging from solutions and technologies that are defining the new era of sustainable mobility, to experiences and research that provide innovative solutions to the challenges of energy efficiency, connectivity, security, adaptation of cities and infrastructures, among others. With these awards, we seek to give visibility to solutions and projects that are advancing towards this necessary transformation of mobility.
